There was a classic car show and food drive at Kahala Mall.
Classic cars from the 1920s to the 1980s as well as motorcycles were on display on the roof parking lot on Saturday.
All the proceeds from the entries of car show and rides from an antique fire truck went directly to the food bank.
“They have over 180 cars here and the antique fire truck is almost sold out. So we are looking at about 4,000 meals that they’ve generated on just that alone,” Hawaii Food Bank Food Drive Manager Kim Bartenstein said.
The Foodbank says there are plenty of hungry people in Hawaii to feed.

“Being a woman in this business is both a blessing and a curse,” said Satterwhite, 28. “I do have heart strings, you know. When I have to figure out and add up what it will cost to get a customer's car safely on the road, I never think that I'm selling them anything.
“I believe I'm educating them.”
Her calm, instructive message to customers has created a positive buzz on the island.
“I admire her demeanor,” said Diana Jourdain, new to the area from New York and living in Kure Beach. “I researched garages and she gets great reviews. Look, I drive a lemon, so I know what I'm talking about. You can just tell she's honest. Not because she's a woman. You get a gut feeling she's shooting straight.”
Satterwhite and husband Westley began renting the vacant space at 306 N. Lake Park Blvd. almost three years ago, converting it into a garage/inspection station after a decade of diverse iterations – gas station, consignment shop, kayak/surf shop.
The gas tanks had been removed years ago, leaving sandy beds on one side of the lot. The couple, among other things, rewired the whole facility, installed car lifts in two inside bays, and just recently paved over the sandy beds and installed a third outside lift to tend to increased work.
“We are slammed,” she said about the brisk business, which has forced Saturday hours to complement weekdays.

9-year-old Tykeece Hilliard who was shot while in the backseat of his mother’s moving car yesterday is going to be ok, his mother said.
He had just eaten at McDonalds and in the car his mother was driving and on his way home with the rest of his siblings.
28-year-old Tynisha Hillliard is a single mother of 6 and had her entire family in the back seat of her red Chevy as she drove in the 6700 block of S Evans around 5:30 yesterday afternoon.
Shots rang out and Tynisha realized her son had been hit. She headed directly to Comer Children’s Hospital with her kids and a male passenger–a friend, she claims–all inside her car.
“My reaction was to save my son,” she said.
Tynisha’s own mother tells WGN her daughter is hanging out with known gang members, even dating one. Debra Hilliard thinks the male in the car last evening was the intended target yesterday, not her grandson, Tykeece.
“A mother is supposed to protect her child, not put him in harm’s way,” Debra said.
Tynisha denies this saying, “I have never put any of my children in harm’s way.”
Still the mother is begging for justice tonight. She wants the shooter caught for her son’s sake.
“I want him in jail. Because anybody that can open fire when there are 6 children in the car is a heartless, cruel person,” she said.

Yesterday here at Car Lust, the question was raised, "Where is my flying car?" Well, while at the New York International Auto Show last year, I saw an amazing something that wasn't solar/electric or satin-finished. It didn't have self parking or a V-12. It was, truly, a flying car.
Now it wasn't quite as convenient as George Jetson's "Pop into a briefcase" machine, though it did fold up. And it does seem to have merit. After all, it was in the Jacob J. Javits Center, right?
The Terrafusia Transition is the first street legal flying vehicle to pass NHTSA regulations, and the FAA gave the craft permission to fly in 2010, certifying it to be flown as a Light Sports Aircraft. So there, we have now officially arrived in the 21st Century.
But before you go up into the wild blue yonder, to drive, I mean fly, er... operate this machine, you'll need a driver's license, a sport pilot's license, license plates, car registration, aircraft certification, tons of insurance, a full tank of gas, an H.E.R.E.*, and a lot of nerve. After all, one needs to know about transponders, wing tip vortices, artificial horizons, and other day-to-day thingamajigs just to get this vehicle off the ground.
In addition to all of that, you'll also need to know when it's running "A little hot."
Terrafugia, which is Latin for “escape from the land," has designed the Transition to fly at a top speed of 115 miles per hour (air speed). 1,430 pounds is its maximum takeoff weight, and it can cruise at 10,000 feet; its range is about 460 miles, roughly 5 times that of the Nissan Leaf.
The Transition has been described as an airplane that can drive on the road. That's fair. But it's also going to have automotive safety equipment such as bumpers and airbags.
And options include a radio, GPS, the aforementioned transponder, and a parachute. The last time I saw a parachute in a car was on The Batmobile, though I doubt you'll be doing many Bat-turns in this thing.
Boarding fee of the Transition is $279,000, with a deposit of $10,000 due up front. It's a 2-seater, but I don't know if the cabin is Smoking or Non-Smoking. Delivery is expected in 2015, and about a hundred people have signed up so far. Many of them live in Florida.

Now is it me, or does this craft bear more than just a striking resemblance to USS Enterprise NCC-1701? I see nacelles, a lower hull, and the helm looks to be in about the same place as well.
Too bad there's no photon torpedoes for those folks that just don't need to be driving today. I wish it had some shields as well.
But this is not a high school study hall drawing. It's real. Or at least it's about to be.
