The Installation Instructions Of The 5054A

Insert the 5054A-base CD and click the "steupstart" icon,there will show some windows one by one,you just need to click "INSTALL"->"ACCEPT"->"START", the progressing bar will show the process of the software installation.when there pop out the window of "End of successful VAS-PC Installation,press "FINISH" and then choose "EXIT" .
Next,you need to install the Java,click the "JavaSetup6" icon and install it.Then click the "VAG VAS-PC HotFix" icon and finish the installation.
Then,download the adobe reader 7.0 and install it.After that,restart your computer to save the installation settings.When the computer restart,connect the 5054A to the computer and install the driver.Then turn on the computer desktop,VAS-PC ,choose "OK"
Now you can start to set the options and click "Administration" first.choose the "Enter workshop code" in the list of "Select function".The first group code is the 3 digital,the second group code is the 5 digit and the third group code is 2 lines no more than 60 characters.After you finish the setting,go back to the management interface and select "Vehicle Self-Diagnosis",then the "On Board Diagnostic(OBD)", write the vehicle identification Number down,click "OK".After all these steps,you can see all the systems of the vehicles,you can choose what you want to check the control unit.

About The Functions Of The D900 Scanner

After you connect the D900 with the vehicle successfully,there will show the main menu which includes the functions of the D900,and they are "Read DTCs","Erase DTCs","Live Data","Freeze Frame","MIL Status","I/M Readiness" and "Vehicle Info".In this article.let's know more details about the first two functions.
First,the function of "Read DTCs".Click the button of "Read DTCs",there will show the diagnostic trouble codes from the computer of the vehicle.The diagnostic trouble codes it shows not only include the trouble code,the number,count and define of the trouble code,but also theG/E icon,which means the generic DTC/Enhanced DTC, and the PENDING icon which indicates the DTC is a pending code.|
Of course,it will only display the trouble codes when there has codes present in the computer memory of the vehicle.And if not,there will show "No DTCs are presently stored in the vehicle's computer".The D900 can retrieve and store up to 30 codes in memory for immediate or later viewing.
Second, "Erase DTCs". If it is used to erase DTCs from the vehicle's on-board computer,the data of "Freeze Frame" and the manufacturer-specific enhanced data will be erased too.So if you are going to repair your vehicle in a garage,then don't erase the codes from the vehicle's computer,or the valuable information will lost.
The steps of erasing DTCs from the computer's memory:
Click the "Erase DTCs" on the main menu,there will show an ask "Erasing clears all DTCs,Freeze Frame Data and resets IM monitirs.Are you sure?".If you want to do this,just press the "ENTER" and then it will erase DTCs from the vehicle's computer.(If not,press "ESC" to exit.)Then there will display a progress screen while the function is working.If all the procedures are smoothly,there will display "Erase is successful",but if there shows "Erase has Failed!" then you should verify that if the D900 has been connected to the vehicle's DTC properly and if the ignition is ON,then repeat the steps we mentioned above.

J-Link V8+ ARM USB-JTAG Adapter Emulator

J-Link emulation is the ARM core chip designed by SEGGER company to support the launch of the JTAG emulator.
This is the new version --V8.0,the improved version of V7.0.And J-Link V8.0 has improved the SWD interface circuit,with the use of counterfeit JLINK V8 JTAG debug,debug mode can be normal when debugging CORTEX-M3 core chips will not use SWD functionality, V7 hardware SWD part is not the same with the V8, if V7.0 is forced to switch to SWD mode, the main chip of JLINK will be destroyed.

The real JLINK V8.0 interface circuit uses two-level converter chip, so using one level converter chip will be a fake one.
JLINK V8.0 has two-color LED,so it can indicate more work status, V7.0 only has one LED indicator light.
It is the best choice for ARM11,it is better and faster than JLINK V7 when to support for ARM11.

Besides the improved points compared to V7.0,V8.0 has many other features:
1.V8 uses AT91SAM7S64, expanding the capacity of Flash and SRAM to help future upgrades;It improves the SWD interface, an increase of driver chips;
2.V8 SWD improved control methods, V7 is the I / O direct-drive, V8 with a special method, yet it is not effective, V8`s SWD velocities slower than the V7;
3.V8 has three lights, one directed USB Communications, a direct target CPU, reset state, a direct 5V output is turned on V7 only 1 USB communication indicator;
4.The firmware update process of J-Link V8 is not DLL, and can't write the same as V7 Boot loader ,V8`s Boot loader needs to implement USB device connectivity;
5. IAR EWARM integrated development environment connects to JTAG Emulator seamlessly;
6. V8.0 supports all ARM7/ARM9 core chips, as well as cortex M3, including Thumb mode;
7. V8.0 supports for ADS, IAR, KEIL, WINARM, REALVIEW almost all the development environment;
